WSL: When will the fixtures be launched?

The 2025-26 Women’s Super League (WSL) fixtures will be released on Friday, 25 July.

The schedule for WSL 2 – renamed from the Championship – will also come out on the same day.

Both competitions will begin on the weekend of 6-7 September 2025.

There will be a winter break from 22 December, with league games returning on the weekend of 10-11 January 2026.

Twelve teams will participate in the 2025-26 WSL season.

Promoted side London City Lionesses will join Arsenal, Aston Villa, Brighton, WSL titleholders Chelsea, Everton, Leicester City, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham.

From the 2026-27 season, the WSL will expand from 12 teams to 14.

Blackburn Rovers have withdrawn from WSL2 because their club owner was unwilling to meet the league’s requirements on facilities, player welfare and staffing.

Sheffield United have been reinstated to the league to ensure 12 teams will be participating.

Promoted sides Nottingham Forest and Ipswich Town will join Birmingham City, Bristol City, Charlton Athletic, Crystal Palace, Durham, Newcastle, Portsmouth, Sheffield United, Southampton and Sunderland.
