West Ham United: Hammers agree charge for Leicester goalkeeper Mads Hermansen

West Ham have agreed a fee of about £20m with Leicester for goalkeeper Mads Hermansen.

Talks had been on-going between the clubs over the Denmark international, and personal terms are not expected to be an issue, with the 25-year-old seen as a good fit for Graham Potter’s style.

A number of other Premier League and European clubs were interested in Hermansen, who impressed last season despite the Foxes’ relegation from the Premier League, but the Hammers were always in pole position to sign him.

The Hammers, who saw Lukasz Fabianski leave at the end of last season, have Casper Ankergren, who worked with Hermansen at Brondby, as their goalkeeping coach.

They have also been interested in Botafogo goalkeeper John Victor.

Hermansen joined Leicester from Brondby in 2023 and has made 72 appearances for the Foxes, winning the Championship title in 2024.

He is one of several players who could leave the King Power Stadium this summer with midfielder Wilfred Ndidi available for £9m after his release clause was triggered by the club’s relegation.

Defender Conor Coady, one of the higher earners at the Foxes, joined Wrexham last week for about £2m.

Leicester, under new coach Marti Cifuentes, host Sheffield Wednesday in their opening Championship game of the season on Sunday.
