Pape Gueye: Aberdeen web ‘vital charge’ from Kasimpasa

  • by

Aberdeen have sold striker Pape Gueye to Turkish Super Lig side Kasimpasa for what they describe as “a significant undisclosed fee”.

The 25-year-old moved to Pittodrie from Belgian club KV Kortrijk August 2023 and scored eight goals in 36 appearances.

Six of those goals came in the opening eight games of last season before missing four months of action due to a muscle injury.

He featured as an early second-half substitute in the Dons’ Scottish Cup final win over Celtic in May.

“We wish Pape all the very best with his transfer to Turkey, and we thank him for his contributions during his time at Aberdeen, notably his positive impact in the Scottish Cup final”, said Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin.

“We’re pleased with our recruitment so far this summer and the work remains ongoing to bring in further reinforcements and improvements ahead of the window closing. We are still shaping the squad.”

Istanbul-based Kasimpasa are coached by former Rangers striker Shota Arveladze and finished 10th in the top flight last season.
