Aston Villa have made Netherlands defender Lynn Wilms their first signing of the summer.
The 24-year-old arrives after four years at Wolfsburg, where she made more than 100 appearances for the two-time Women’s Champions League winners.
Wilms is a versatile defender who has 54 caps and can play at right-back or centre-back.
She is currently in the Netherlands squad for Euro 2025 and replaced Manchester City defender Kerstin Casparij in the 64th minute of their opening match against Group D opponents Wales.
Villa’s director of women’s football Marisa Ewers said: “Lynn is a player with plenty of experience at the highest level.
“She has performed on the Champions League stage and we all hope she can help contribute to our own aspirations in qualifying for Europe in the years to come.”
Villa finished sixth in the Women’s Super League (WSL) last season.
