Last April, the Ravens signed Bateman to a two-year, $12.87 million extension. The former first-round pick responded with his most productive season, generating 756 yards on 45 caches with nine touchdowns — he’d previously had four total touchdowns in his first three seasons.
With two years left on his deal, the Ravens ensured he’d be around longer while also goosing his guaranteed money.
Despite never having a massive season, Bateman plays a key role in the Ravens offense. This offseason, Baltimore added DeAndre Hopkins to the equation. The trio of WR1 Zay Flowers, Bateman and Hopkins represents the best wideout crew Baltimore has boasted in years.
The Ravens had several extension candidates this offseason, including Lamar Jackson, Kyle Hamilton, Tyler Linderbaum and others. First, they locked down their No. 2 receiver.
