NFC South betting preview – Odds and picks for the division

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are even-money favorites to win a fifth straight NFC South title in 2025, and they have the highest projected win total (9.5) in the division.

The Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers are in the midst of seven-year playoff droughts — the second-longest active streak to the New York Jets (14) — but a win here, a loss there and things could turn in the division. The Falcons (+225 to win the NFC South) won eight games last season and their win total at ESPN BET sits at 7.5. Carolina’s win projection is 6.5 coming off a 5-12 season.

The New Orleans Saints are the long shot at +1100 in the division and are tied the the Cleveland Browns for the lowest projected win total in the league (4.5).

How will things play out this season? Here are the season-long odds for the NFC South teams and our favorite bets.

Best bets

Falcons OVER 7.5 wins (-145)

Matt Bowen: Atlanta won eight games in last season, and second-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr. is an upgrade over former starter Kirk Cousins. Penix has the movement ability and deep-ball accuracy to create more explosive plays in the pass game, while dual-threat running back Bijan Robinson has game-changing traits. Plus, Atlanta had to upgrade their pass rush this offseason, and they did with rookie edge rushers Jalon Walker and James Pearce Jr. Getting to eight wins seems very reachable here.

Panthers OVER 6.5 wins (-135)

Maldonado: I don’t know why I have such a soft spot for the Panthers. Maybe it’s Bryce Young’s redemption arc or the fact that they play one of the easiest schedules in the league. But here I am, ready to get burned from hope. Let’s eliminate trust from the equation and do the math: improved offensive line, legitimate weapons and a defense that has to bounce back from rock bottom. Add in head coach Dave Canales building a system that finally suits Young and, well, you’ve got a team with a real shot to win, even if it’s ugly. The Panthers don’t have to be great, just better. And that feels doable.
