Jamaica full-back Taylor Hinds has joined Arsenal as a free agent following the end of her contract with Liverpool.
The 26-year-old returns to the club where she began her career before joining Everton in 2018.
BBC Sport understands she has signed a three-year deal and becomes the Gunners’ second signing of the summer after England forward Chloe Kelly made her loan move permanent.
“This is a full-circle moment for me and I’m grateful to come back to a place I called home when I was younger,” said Hinds.
“I can’t wait to get started and to step out on the pitch at Emirates Stadium in front of all our incredible supporters.”
Hinds brings versatility and competition in defence along with significant Women’s Super League experience.
Arsenal have been keen to get their business done early in the transfer window in order to build on their Women’s Champions League success and are expected to make at least one more signing.
After two years with the Toffees, Hinds moved to Liverpool and made 131 appearances in five seasons, scoring eight goals.
She was an integral part of their Women’s Championship title win in 2021-22 and became Liverpool vice-captain in 2023.
Arsenal boss Renee Slegers, who led Arsenal to victory in the Champions League in May, said Hinds was a “versatile player who has great experience”.
“We’re delighted to welcome Taylor back to Arsenal. I’m excited to get started with Taylor on the training pitch,” she added.
Hinds can play both full-back and in midfield and represented England at youth level in the Under-17 and Under-20 World Cups before switching allegiance to Jamaica, for whom she made her debut against France in October last year.
Hinds will wear the number 24 shirt on her return to Arsenal.
